Winkleigh, Devon, United Kingdom The development of an integrated gasification gas turbine combined cycle facility is underway in Winkleigh a small community in Devon in the UK. This project will incorporate a 300 ton per day SilvaGas gasifier coupled to a Siemens Cyclone turbine to produce 23 MW of power to the local utility grid. The site is a decommissioned airfield approximately 2 km from the city center. The fuel for the gasifier will consist of energy plantation crops (willow coppice and miscanthus), along with wood residues and cellulose fibers. Partners for the Winkleigh project are Peninsula
Power, the local developer; SilvaGas Corporation; Siemens Industrial Turbines;
and the UK Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). Peninsula
Power and the DTI are providing funding for the project. Further
